Ambassador Reserve is the flagship wine in Auswan Creek’s Diplomat series. It is limitedly released and individually numbered in each unique vintage. This shiraz cabernet blend is handcrafted using fruid from 70-year-old vines. These old vines are called “Survivor Vines” as they have stood the test of time and survived the vine pulling scheme in the 1980s.

Ambassador Reserve is made with traditional winemaking skills and stored in high quality barrels for more than 18 months. It is complex, unique and is blessed with rich aromas and big flavours. Auswan Creek welcomes you to enjoy the unparalleled experience given by the wines crafted from the Barossa “Survivor Vines”.

2017 AUSWAN CREEK ‘AMBASSADOR RESERVE’ 70 SHIRAZ CABERNET SAUVIGNON

Variety: Shiraz & Cabernet Sauvignon

Vintage: 2017

Region: Barossa Valley, SA

Winemaking: Components of this wine have been matured in French oak for at least 12 months. Old, seasoned oak barrel were used to add to the tannin and texture, without overpowering the pristine fruit.

Tasting Note: Dark, garnet/ruby. Substantial wine with elegance and poise, although full bodied. Complex ripe red and black fruits and spice. Balanced and structured with loads of intensity. Nice grip. A powerful wine to cellar to allow integration of all the components.

Cellaring: Drinking well now, and will mature over the next 18+ years.
