Auswan Creek
1908 Centenarian Barossa Shiraz
Auswan’s 1908 centenarian shiraz is the pinnacle of the Auswan Creek Icons. Crafted by award winning winemaker Mr. Ben Riggs from hand-picked Shiraz produced in our Centenarian Barossa Valley Vineyard, the wine is full-bodied, rich and delivers an unequal intensity and complexity of flavour.
First Shiraz vines were planted in 1908, making our Centenarian Vineyard on Stockwell Road one of the oldest in the Barossa Valley. The fruit produced is limited but of the highest quality and is a prized jewel of the Barossa. The Shiraz from these 100+ year old vines is dry grown, cropped at extremely low yields, handpicked and aged in new French oak to produce wines with unmatched intensity of flavour. As our Centenarian Vines have truly withstood the test of time, this iconic Barossa Shiraz will also cellar for decades, rewarding those with the patience in the years to come.
